The new 3… More of what you love

We’ve created something new here at WKYC Studios, and it’s designed with you in mind.

It's here! We're proud to introduce you to the new and improved 3 -- and we think you’ll notice a big difference in the stories we tell and how we tell them.

Yes, we’ll always cover the big and breaking news of the day, but we’re also going to focus on stories that matter to you and those you care about. We’re also more committed than ever to find information that can make a difference in your life. Whether it’s keeping your family safe with must-see consumer reports and investigations, growing your career in Cleveland with learning and job opportunities or finding new ways to have more fun in your life, we want to help you, your friends and your family live your best lives.

You’ll be seeing more of this: stories that help you be in the know about what’s going on around Northeast Ohio. Our new network of local experts will show you great places to go, interesting things to do and see, new places to eat and relax and the best ways to have fun.

We’ll also celebrate those who inspire and empower us.

We are also hosting new initiatives like Planet CLE to show us all how to make Northeast Ohio a greener, prettier and more sustainable place to live—a place where people will want to come, not only to visit, but perhaps to stay.

And 3 Loves Pets is an important project for us because we love our pets as much as you do. So we’ve been creating stories on air and online that can help your four-legged friend, of maybe feathery or scaly one, live their best life, too.

Caring for animals is not just about those that already have forever families. Our mission is for all unwanted and abandoned pets to find homes, too, which is why WKYC STUDIOS puts our reputation behind important events like Clear the Shelters adoption drive and the annual Fur-Get-Me-Not telethon.

The new 3 is also about being involved in the community. You’ll see us out at more events like the Tall Ships Festival and Velosano. We want to meet you and hear from you. Tell us what’s on your mind and what you’d like to see covered.

And, of course, our community outreach is stronger than ever and extends to our important neighborhood initiatives neighborhood Little Free Libraries, the Father’s Walk, Coats for Kids, the Heart Walk and partnering with the LeBron James Family Foundation.

This fall, you’re going to see a whole new line up of shows. Our morning show is now called “GO!” to wake you up and get you inspired for each new day. Our 6p show is now called “What Matters Most” because after a day of hearing and seeing a lot of news on your cellphones, we want to sort it all out and focus on truly what is most important for you and your family. “Front Row” follows at 7p with the inside scoop on Cleveland culture, entertainment, sport and politics and we end the day with “What’s Next,” our new 11p show that gives you a head start on tomorrow and the future.

You’ll also notice that all these shows will have a new look to match all the great content and exciting new people who will be sharing the best and most important news of Cleveland.

From set design to on-air graphics, we’ve updated our format to better inform and engage you.  Now, you’ll be able to learn more about a story, trend or product and even get more involved with the stories you’re watching.

Does what you’re seeing here intrigue you? If so, check us out starting at 4m Monday morning for "Go!" and let us know how you feel about the new 3. You can provide feedback via @wkyc on Twitter, our Facebook page or you can email us at channel3@wkyc.com.

We hope you’ll find more to love about what we’re doing here at WKYC STUDIOS and get news and information that will truly help you live your best life.
