Recipes: How to make creative mocktails during 'Dry January'

On Wednesday's "What's New" Jay and Betsy learn how to make drinks that are good, improve your mood and help you save money.

CLEVELAND — Just in time for the end of the month, on Wednesday's "What’s New" with Jay Crawford and Betsy Kling we discuss the benefits of Dry January including mocktails from Head Bartender of Tito’s Homemade Vodka, Rob Bell.

After the holidays when you’ve consumed more eggnog than you’d care to admit and the champagne from New Year’s Eve runs out, Dry January is here to the rescue. Dry January is the time of year when people take a break from drinking alcohol.

Participating in Dry January is a feel-good move that is packed with lots of benefits. Limiting your intake can improve your mood, help you sleep more soundly, and strengthen your immune system.

Bell joins the show and provides three fun drinks that help enhance and make the most of Dry January. 

See the recipes are listed below:

Green Dream:

  • 1.5 oz of avocado honey simple syrup
  • 1 oz Ceylon simple syrup
  • 2 oz coconut water
  • Garnish with fresh mint

Avacado Honey simple syrup:

  • 6 ounces of honey
  • 6 ounces of hot water
  • 1/2 of a medium ripe avocado
  • Combine all ingredients and blend
  • Pour ingredients into squeeze bottle

Ceylon Cinnamon simple syrup:

  • 6 ounces of sugar
  • 6 ounces of warm water
  • 1 tablespoon of ceylon cinnamon
  • Add ingredients into a squeeze bottle and shake until mixed completely
