CLEVELAND -- Police and the FBI are asking for the public's help in solving a rash of recent homicides that occurred this week.
Police held a news conference Friday to provide updates on the cases:
The FBI is also assisting Cleveland police, with two agents assigned to the department.
The FBI and Crimestoppers are offering a reward up to $7,500 for information leading to an arrest and conviction for each of the recent cases.
The city has dealt with a handful of homicides this week, including the deadly shooting of a 21-year-old man outside the Zelma George Recreation Center Wednesday night. Police said Friday they have persons of interests related to the shooting.
A 94-year-old woman died after she was beaten during a home invasion in the Slavic Village neighborhood early Monday. The suspect entered the home through a window and confronted the victim and a 74-year-old woman as they slept. Police said Friday they have no suspect information for the killing.
A 24-year-old man was also shot dead in the 2000 block of W. 91st Street Monday, while a 29-year-old was shot in a driveway on E. 146th Street. An arrest was made Thursday in the E. 146th Street shooting and police said they have persons of interest in the W. 91st Street case.
Earlier that day, the body of a woman was found beneath a set of stairs at an Engle Road church.
On Sunday, a 35-year-old man was found dead with several gunshot wounds in a home on W. 146th Street. That morning, a man and woman were found dead inside a vehicle in the 8000 block of Detroit Road. The car was listed stolen out of Hinckley. Police said Friday there are no suspects in the case.
