$10 million bond set for son charged in death of North Royalton parents

The victims were found when officers conducted a welfare check after the couple didn't show up at a church function.

PARMA, Ohio -- A 44-year-old man charged in the death of his parents in North Royalton appeared in court Wednesday morning.

Michael Brewer came in for a scheduled for a bond hearing in Parma Municipal Court at 11 a.m. The judge set his bond a $10 million.

Brewer is accused of murdering his parents, Dennis and Helen Lucak, after both were found shot multiple times Sunday inside their home on Harbour Light Drive.

Officers took Brewer into custody after they tracked the Luack’s cell phone to a hotel room and found him there. He faces two counts of aggravated murder, plus aggravated burglary and theft.

Funeral arrangements were also announced today Dennis and Helen, both 72 years old. Visitation will take place at Archangel Michael Orthodox Church (where Dennis was a deacon) from 2-7 p.m. on Sunday, with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. A funeral and burial service will follow the next day at 10 a.m. at the church and later at St. Theodosius Cemetery in Brooklyn.
