A pharmacy owner fought back when a trio of males tried to rob him Friday morning.
According to police, the attempted robbery happened around 9 a.m. at the Highland Square Pharmacy.
Employees say three males rushed into the store wearing dark clothing with their faces obscured. Two of the males jumped over the pharmacy counter and yelled, "Don't move!" as they began pulling plastic bags from their pockets.
When the store owner brandished a 9mm handgun and fired several shots at the suspects, they fled into a Chevrolet Blazer parked on South Highland Avenue.
The suspects have not been identified.
