Fire spreads to 3 homes in Cleveland's Tremont neighborhood

It happened at W. 8th Street and Brayton Avenue.

CLEVELAND -- Firefighters were busy Wednesday morning working to extinguish a fire that hit three homes in the Tremont area.

It happened at W. 8th Street and Brayton Avenue where fire officials say the flames sparked inside an unoccupied residence before spreading to two neighboring homes -- both of which had people living inside.

The occupied homes had working smoke detectors inside and nobody was hurt.

The flames were brought under control around 7:30 a.m. Wednesday -- about 30 minutes after the Cleveland Fire Department tweeted the situation had been upgraded to a triple two-alarm fire.
