A 22-year-old woman is dead after a driver going the wrong way slammed into her car on State Route 2 near the East 9th St. exit ramp early Saturday morning.
Cleveland police say the woman was driving her Volkswagen Jetta westbound around 2:50 a.m. when a 29-year-old man approached in a Toyota Camry headed in the wrong direction. She attempted to get out of the way, but was unable to do so. She died at the scene.
The victim has since been identified as Jessica Mustin of Middlefield, according to the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner. The wrong-way driver sustained "life-threatening" head injuries, and was scheduled to undergo surgery.
The crash remains under investigation. In all, four vehicles were involved.
