PARMA HEIGHTS, Ohio — Police and fire officials are on scene after a house exploded in Parma Heights Saturday afternoon.
The blast occurred on the 6300 block of Mallo Place around 1:15 p.m. Smoke is still billowing from the site and the home is completely destroyed. The cause is unclear at this time.
Police tell 3News a body was found inside the house.
Neighbors tell 3News at least one older gentleman lived in the house. It is not yet known whether or not he was inside.
Multiple departments responded to the scene. Gas had been shut off to surrounding homes and residents were asked to avoid the area. However, by 6:15 p.m., some residents told 3News' Dorsena Drakeford that gas had been restored.
Authorities wrapped up the scene on Saturday night with plans to continue in the morning.
