A 63-year-old man is dead following a car crash in Geauga County Tuesday morning.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the driver of a Dodge Caravan had a "medical episode," causing the vehicle to go off the right side of State Route 88 in Parkman Township. The car apparently struck a ditch and a culvert before coming to rest in a field.
The driver, identified as Abner O. McDaniel, later died at University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center. His 23-year-old passenger was uninjured.
The crash is still under investigation, although officials believe McDaniel was not wearing a seat belt at the time.
