19-year-old man seriously injured in Lorain County crash

The man's condition is unknown at this time. 

Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a crash that left a 19-year-old seriously injured, Sunday.

The single-car crash took place on Osborne Road in Columbia Township around 12:44 p.m.

The driver,19-year-old Tanner Hendrix of Elyria was headed eastbound on Osborne Road when he drove off the side of the road, struck a driveway embankment; becoming partially airborne.  

Hendrix's 2005 Chevrolet Colorado continued through several yards and struck a tree before coming to a stop.

Tanner was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident. As a result, on impact his head struck the windshield causing serious injury. 

He was transported to Southwest General Hospital.

It is unknown at this time what caused the young man to drive off the road.  

No other cars were involved and Kendrix was the only occupant in the car. 

The crash remains under investigation.
