Residents and visitors in and around Elyria noticed a large cloud of black smoke in the area on Friday morning.
The Elyria Fire Department told 3News that the heavy black smoke could be attributed to a salvage yard fire in Carlyle Twp. According to the Chronicle-Telegram, Butternut Ridge and Indian Hollow have been closed as multiple fire departments fight the large outdoor fire at Butternut Auto & Recycling on Butternut Ridge Road.
