A Lafayette Township trustee in Medina County is still missing after his office was found in disarray Friday morning.
A statement was released late Tuesday by two other Lafayette Township Trustees, Lynda Bowers and Michael Costello:
"We are worried, exhausted and our hearts are breaking for the Macron family. They are our family too. It is a difficult time for all of us, including our employees who are understandably shaken. We have faith in law enforcement and are respecting their request that all information flow through them."
The Medina County Sheriff's Office responded to the Lafayette Township Administration Building around 7:30 a.m. Friday on a report of suspicious circumstances. Employee reported finding the office unlocked with all the lights on.
The employee said Trustee Byron Macron had a meeting scheduled with a resident at the office later that morning. Macron's office was found in disarray. The sheriff's office believes there may have been an altercation.
Macron's car was found in a parking lot on Beachside Drive in Chippewa Lake.
