WADSWORTH -- An FAA spokesman says the pilot of a small plane was not injured after his small plane crashed near the Wadsworth Municipal Airport.
The plane, a single-engine Socata MS 893, apparently lost power and clipped the top of trees before going down near a housing development at Seville Road and State Route 57. There was no damage to property.
Jack Ryder, another pilot who was at the airport, tells WKYC he saw the plane disappear about a mile away before calling 911.
"We said, 'He's awful low,'" Ryder said. "He went below the tree line. We didn't see him hit the ground.
The unharmed pilot was the plane's only passenger.
