Police are investigating after a man drowned inside a Richfield hotel pool Wednesday morning.
Officials say the incident occurred around 9:46 a.m. at the Days Inn on Brecksville Road. Witnesses said they heard the man yelling for help, but no one around him knew how to swim.
Following a failed rescue attempt by one of the hotel patrons, staff were able to pull the man out and start CPR. He was later taken to University Hospitals in Broadview Heights, where he was pronounced dead.
The victim is a 26-year-old man from Cleveland, according to authorities. His identity has not been released at this time.
