GREEN, Ohio -- A 40-year-old woman who had been reported missing from the Ellet area was found naked in Green this week.
She was spotted on her hands and knees near Mayfair and Wise roads before fleeing into a wooded area when an off-duty deputy approached.
When she could not be located, authorities initiated an aerial search and also used K-9 units on the ground.
“During the search, the woman's car was located parked in the middle of Mayfair Road,” according to the Summit County Sheriff’s Office. “It was ascertained she was already reported missing from the Ellet area and she was in a mental crisis.”
Within an hour, the woman was found face down in a marshy area surrounded by trees approximately 200-300 yards from Heckman Road.
Medics responded to the scene where she was later taken to Akron General Medical Center for evaluation.
Her name is not being released.
Although this happened around noon Monday, authorities just released details Friday morning.
