Report: Cleveland Indians seeking outfield help on trade market

According to MLB.com's Mark Feinsand, the Cleveland Indians have remained plenty active on the trade market.

Last week, the Cleveland Indians filled arguably the biggest hole on their roster when they acquired All-Star reliever Brad Hand and rookie relieve Adam Cimber.

But even after bolstering their bullpen, the Indians might not be done dealing just yet. According to MLB.com's Mark Feinsand, Cleveland is "actively looking" for outfield help as the July 31 non-waiver trade deadline approaches. Feinsand also added that the Indians were "pretty quietly heavy" on All-Star shortstop Manny Machado, before he was traded from the Baltimore Orioles to the Los Angeles Dodgers late last week.

Despite its 9.5-game lead in the American League Central, it makes sense that Cleveland would look to improve their outfield for the stretch run. Last week, it was revealed that Bradley Zimmer will miss the remainder of the season following labrum surgery, while Lonnie Chisenhall could miss more than two months due to a calf injury, leaving the Indians with limited proven outfield options outside of All-Star left fielder Michael Brantley. In its 5-0 loss to the Texas Rangers on Sunday, Cleveland started Tyler Naquin in center field and recently re-signed Melky Cabrera in right.

Although Feinsand didn't link the Indians to any specific names, one that comes to mind is Orioles center fielder Adam Jones. With the 5-time All-Star currently in the final year of his contract, it's feasible that Baltimore -- which lays claim to an MLB-worst 28-72 record -- could look to get something back for Jones, who has hit for a .277 average to go along with 10 home runs and 37 RBIs in 94 games this season.

After returning from the All-Star break to take two of three from Texas, the Indians will be back in action on Monday, hosting the Pittsburgh Pirates at Progressive Field at 7:10 p.m. ET.
