CLEVELAND -- The Cleveland Cavaliers' efforts to extend their season appeared to take a hit on Friday night when Kevin Love exited the first quarter of their Eastern Conference Finals Game 6 matchup with the Boston Celtics due to an apparent head injury.

The All-Star center suffered the injury following a collision with Celtics forward Jayson Tatum, in which the two players banged heads. After being taken to the locker room, he has been evaluated for a concussion and will be held out for the remainder of Game 6, according to Fox Sports Ohio's Allie Clifton.

Trailing the Celtics three games to two heading into Friday, the Cavs are looking to extend the best-of-seven series to a decisive Game 7 in Boston on Sunday. Without Love, that will be much easier said than done, as the 10-year veteran averaged 15.0 points and 11.0 rebounds through the first five games of the Eastern Conference Finals.

Love exited the game with 6:58 remaining in the first quarter and Cleveland trailing Boston by a score of 10-6. At the end of the first quarter, the Cavs trailed the Celtics 25-20, with Jeff Green subbing in for Love.

At halftime, the Cavs lead the Celtics 54-43.

The 5-time All-Star had also suffered a concussion against the Detroit Pistons in late-March, which caused him to miss a game against the Charlotte Hornets.
