As Nick Gilbert likes to say, 'What's not to like?,' when you see a tweet like this.
On Thursday night, Nick's dad, Cleveland Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert, tweeted an update following Nick's brain surgery.
As ESPN's Dave McMenamin reported earlier this week, Nick Gilbert was born with neurofibromatosis, commonly referred to as NF, a nerve disorder that causes tumors to grow anywhere in the body at any time. One out of 3,000 people on average is born with NF.
The laser ablation brain surgery was performed at a Detroit-area hospital.
We first met Nick when he was just 14 and represented the Cavs when they got the number one pick in the 2011 NBA Lottery. He did again in 2013.
Here’s to a speedy recovery!
