Having spent three years as a teammate of LeBron James', Kyrie Irving is no stranger to the Cleveland Cavaliers megastar's fiery nature. So when Irving witnessed a video of James laying into his Cavaliers teammates on Thursday night, it elicited an impulsive -- or perhaps intentional -- response from the Boston Celtics guard, which manifested itself in the form of an Instagram like.
The video of James came from the Cavs' 133-99 loss to the Toronto Raptors on Thursday night -- Cleveland's second blowout defeat in as many games. Irving's Celtics, meanwhile, have now won seven straight contests following their 114-103 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers in London on Thursday.
James and Irving, of course, share a storied history, dating back to their three seasons as teammates in Cleveland and Irving's bitter departure from the Cavs this past offseason. Since the 4-time All-Star asked the team for a trade last July, he and James have traded passive-aggressive barbs on social media, while also extending the occasional virtual olive branch to one another.
While some may write Irving's 'like' off as a mistake, it's worth noting he's plenty experienced as an Instagram user. On Friday, he revealed on J.J. Redick's podcast that his infamous 'Earth is flat' comment from a year ago actually stemmed from an Instagram video he watched, which urged him to seek the truth.
You do you, Kyrie. You do you.
