It's not often an NBA player scores his 30,000th career point. With his jump shot at the end of the first quarter of the Cleveland Cavaliers' matchup with the San Antonio Spurs on Tuesday, LeBron James became just the seventh -- and youngest -- player to do so.
Social media responded accordingly, with the 4-time MVP receiving an outpouring of love throughout the night. It began when Fox Sports Ohio tweeted a video of James' family congratulating him on the milestone, and continued with footage of the likes of Drake, P. Diddy, Jay-Z and Kevin Hart wishing the Cavs' megastar well.
From there, the NBA community chimed in, with league commissioner Adam Silver issuing the following statement: βCongratulations to LeBron on reaching 30,000 points β yet another milestone in an extraordinary career that continues to inspire.β
Two of the other six members of the 30,000-point club, Dallas Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki and former Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant took to Twitter to welcome their exclusive fraternity's newest member.
Nowitzki and Bryant weren't alone, as several players past and present used social media to congratulate James on his latest accomplishment.
And of course, the Cleveland t-shirt economy was there to capitalize on the moment, with GVArtwork releasing a new design dedicated to James' latest feat.
