LeBron James is seven points away from scoring his 30,000th career point -- a milestone he will most definitely reach when the Cleveland Cavaliers take on the San Antonio Spurs on Tuesday night.
But before the praise could pour in for his latest career accomplishment, James beat everybody to the punch, as he congratulated his younger self on scoring his 30,000th career point with a Tuesday morning Instagram post.
Should James indeed reach the 30,000 career points mark on Tuesday, he would become just the seventh player in NBA history to do so, joining Dirk Nowitzki, Wilt Chamberlain, Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Karl Malone and Kareem Abdu- Jabbar. Having turned 33 years old last month, he will also be the youngest player to accomplish the feat.
As is the case with anything he does, James' self-congratulatory social media post has received widespread attention. But given the rarified air he's about to join, it'd be tough to fault the Cavs megastar for being proud of his impending accomplishment.
