Cleveland, Quicken Loans Arena chosen to host 2024 NCAA Women's Final Four

The City of Cleveland and Quicken Loans Arena have been chosen to host the 2024 NCAA Women's Final Four.

CLEVELAND -- Quicken Loans Arena and the City of Cleveland have been chosen to host the 2024 NCAA Women’s Basketball Final Four.

The announcement was made through the NCAA Women’s Basketball official Twitter account Monday afternoon.

Along with Cleveland, NCAA Women’s Basketball announced host sites for the 2021 (San Antonio, Texas), 2022 (Minneapolis) and 2023 (Dallas, Texas) Women’s Final Four events. The 2019 and 2020 tournaments will be held in Tampa Bay and New Orleans, respectively.

Shortly after the announcement was made, the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission tweeted a “Welcome back to Cleveland” message.

The Greater Cleveland Sports Commission and Mid-American Conference will serve as the host organizations for the event.

This will be the second time Quicken Loans Arena and the City of Cleveland plays host to the NCAA Women’s Final Four. Previously, “The Q” and Cleveland hosted the 2007 NCAA Women’s Final Four, and the 2024 event will mark the fourth time the nets will get cut down in the state of Ohio.

Cincinnati hosted the NCAA Women’s Final Four in 1997, and the City of Columbus hosted the 2018 tournament.

During the 2007 NCAA Women’s Final Four, the University of Tennessee Lady Vols topped the University of North Carolina Tar Heels in the National Semifinals, and then, defeated Rutgers, 59-46, to claim their seventh of eight National Championships under the direction of the late Pat Summitt.
