Joe Thomas takes to Twitter to recruit Kirk Cousins to Cleveland Browns

The 10-time Pro Bowl selection hasn't exactly been subtle.

Ever since the 2017 season came to an end, Joe Thomas hasn't been shy to share his thoughts on the Cleveland Browns potentially pursuing Kick Cousins.

Whether it's been in interviews on ESPN or on his 'ThomaHawk Show' podcast, Thomas has made it clear he thinks the Browns should do their best to sign the soon-to-be free agent quarterback.

But on Thursday morning, Thomas took his campaigning to a whole new level. In a string of tweets, the 10-time Pro Bowl selection did his best to publicly recruit Cousins, who has spent the past six seasons with the Washington Redskins.

When a follower then pointed out that Cousins has already made enough money and could make history elsewhere, Thomas was quick to dispute. According to Thomas, whichever quarterback leads the Browns to their eventual turnaround will have etched out his own special place in NFL history.

Thomas, however, didn't just appeal to emotion, but made a football argument too. Should the Browns sign Cousins, thus eliminating their need to draft a signal-caller, they could then spend their two top-four picks in the upcoming NFL Draft on elite offensive talent to surround him with.

Of course, a return from Thomas in 2018 wouldn't hurt Cleveland's cause either. Since his 2017 season came to an end due a torn triceps suffered last October, the 11-year veteran has openly contemplated his retirement and recently said on the 'ThomaHawk Show' that he would prefer to arrive at a decision sooner rather than later.

Based on his public comments, it would appear landing a veteran quarterback like Cousins would only make a return for a 12th NFL season more likely for the future Hall of Famer. But should the Browns ultimately not land -- or even pursue -- Cousins, it won't be because Thomas didn't make his wishes clear.
