The Cleveland Browns' additions of wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. and cornerback Greedy Williams have resulted in celebratory billboards around the city.

CLEVELAND — Massillon, Ohio is known as “Tiger Town” for the beloved mascot of Washington High School, but Cleveland is making a case of its own for the moniker because of the Browns’ bolstering of their roster with former Louisiana State University football players.

Already with wide receiver Jarvis Landry on the roster, the Browns acquired fellow pass catcher Odell Beckham Jr. in a trade with the New York Giants on the first day of the new league year back in March, and six weeks later, added cornerback Greedy Williams via a second-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft out.

To celebrate the reuniting of close friends Landry and Beckham Jr. and the addition of Williams, LSU football’s official Twitter account tweeted a photo of a billboard that has since been displayed around town with the three former Tigers.

“Land of Tigers is written in yellow, one of LSU’s trademark colors.

Knowing the Browns have added plenty of talent from LSU in recent years, Williams is looking forward to sharpening his skills by working opposite Beckham Jr. and Landry.

“I know those guys are going to get me right as far as playing my position and them going against me,” Williams said in a conference call shortly after being drafted by the Browns. “They are going to tell me what they look for in a corner.

“I’m definitely ready to match up against those guys in practice and be able to cover anybody if you can cover them two. I’m just very excited. I thank Cleveland for just taking the opportunity on me. This is big for me and my family. Cleveland has a lot more fans coming from Louisiana.”

Williams is excited to work with Beckham Jr. and Landry because no matter where they went in the NFL, home was always in Louisiana.

“Odell has been one of the guys that used to come back and just talk to us, send us shoes and things like that -- Jarvis, as well,” Williams said.

“Those guys are NFLSU guys. I am pretty sure that whenever I step into the Cleveland Browns headquarters, those guys are going to welcome me into the NFLSU. They are going to teach me how to be a great pro with Cleveland.”
