For the ladies, Bradie Tennell proved she belonged by carding a respectable fifth for the United States.

But Evgenia Medvedeva of Russia was the star of the show, blowing past the competition with an 81.06.

At the end of the short programs, Team Canada leads with 34 points, followed by the Olympic Athletes from Russia and the United States. The pairs free skate is taking place right now.
