First, Nick Goepper showed why he is the defending bronze medalist by putting up a score of 92.80.
Then, defending silver medalist Gus Kenworthy (battling a broken hand and a hematoma) fought through the pain for an 88.60 of his own.
Both are currently among the top 12 that would advance to the finals, with one qualifying run to go.
