AKRON, Ohio -- Crews closed Route 8 North at the Central Interchange in Akron for several hours early Friday morning after a semi fire.
Akron fire officials say the truck was hauling 8,500 gallons of gasoline when it caught fire.
"We were able to extinguish the fire before the tanker trailer was compromised, therefore there was not release of the gasoline," authorities say.
The roadway has since reopened.
