CLEVELAND — Anna Meyer originally started at wkyc studios in September 2021, where she completed a three-month internship with the digital content team.
In April 2022, Anna re-joined the digital team part-time, before transitioning into full-time in June 2022.
Anna graduated Magna Cum Laude from John Carroll University with a Bachelor of Arts in Digital Media Communication and Political Science with a Leadership Development minor in May 2022.
During her time at John Carroll University, Anna served as the sports editor for The Carroll News, the Society of Professional Journalists president, and was a student assistant for the John Carroll Sports Information Department.
In her role with the John Carroll Sports Information Department, she did play-by-play broadcasting for many of the school’s teams and wrote various stories highlighting the teams and their players.
She also completed many internships throughout college, including one with ESPN Cleveland, MIM Software, Capitol Partners and WKYC.
For Anna’s sports writing with The Carroll News, she received a Society of Professional Journalists Mark of Excellence Award in 2022.
Within the Tim Russert Department of Communication at John Carroll University, Anna received various awards, including the Outstanding Senior Award, Society of Professional Journalists Award, WEWS Production Award and the Fred McClure Outstanding Sophomore Award.
Anna is a native of Bloomingdale, Ohio, and graduated from Steubenville Catholic Central High School in 2018.
Anna enjoys spending time with family and friends, watching sports and going to concerts in her free time!
