Annabelle Childers joined the 3News team in June 2024 as a Reporter/Multi-Skilled Journalist.
Before moving to Cleveland, Annabelle worked as a reporter for KRDO13 News in Colorado Springs, Colorado. There, she covered a wide range of stories on crime, local government, school boards, rural healthcare access and immigration.
Closest to her heart is her coverage of the Club Q mass shooting. In late November 2022, a mass shooter killed five and injured dozens of others at a LGBTQ+ nightclub in Colorado Springs. Annabelle covered community reactions in the immediate aftermath of the violence and went on to tell the stories of many survivors over the next two years. Her reporting has been recognized with two Emmy nominations and a Colorado Broadcasters Association Award.
Annabelle is a proud graduate of Pepperdine University in Malibu, California, where she studied Journalism with an emphasis in International Relations. Through the university, she studied abroad in London, England and Lausanne, Switzerland, and she would love to live in the United Kingdom one day.
Though she’s spent the past few years on the West Coast and in the Midwest, Annabelle was born and raised in Little Rock, Arkansas. It was there that she developed her love for nature and country music.
When she’s off the clock, you might find Annabelle indulging her coffee obsession at a local shop, hiking, writing music, or taking a day trip to explore the state.
She knows there is a lot to learn about Northeast Ohio, and she would love to hear what matters most to you — whether that be a news story you want to see covered or a simple coffee recommendation.
