CLEVELAND — Editor's note: the video in the player above is from a previous story.
Earlier this month, World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) announced that its flagship show, "Monday Night Raw," will return to Cleveland on August 8.
As it turns out, that won't be the only professional wrestling show in town that month.
On Tuesday, All Elite Wrestling (AEW) announced that it will return to Cleveland's Wolstein Center for a live episode of its own flagship show, "AEW Dynamite," as well as a taping of "AEW Rampage" on August 24. The show will mark AEW's third in Cleveland since the company's inception in 2019 and second this year after the Wolstein Center hosted a special episode of "Dynamite" titled "Beach Break" in January.
While no matches have been advertised for the show -- which will take place less than two weeks before AEW's annual "All Out" pay-per-view -- the following wrestlers are featured in the advertisement for the event:
- Jon Moxley
- Chris Jericho
- Wardlow
- "Hangman" Adam Page
- Jade Cargill
- Bryan Danielson
- Adam Cole
- Britt Baker
- Scorpio Skye
- FTR
- The Young Bucks
- Thunder Rosa
Notably, the August 24 show will mark a homecoming for Middlefield native Wardlow -- real name: Michael Wardlow -- who has emerged as one of AEW's brightest young stars in recent months.
"AEW returns to the City of Light, Cleveland, OH! Join us on the Road to #AllOut with #AEWDynamite LIVE & #AEWRampage at the @wolsteincenter on Wednesday August 24!" the ad reads. "Tickets start at $29 (+fees) & go on sale THIS FRIDAY 6/24 at 10am ET! Don't miss out http://AEWTIX.com!"
