CLEVELAND — Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders is no stranger to the corner of the internet dedicated to memes. In fact, the Democratic leader has been the subject of many in the past.
At Wednesday's inauguration, however, the senator from New England was photographed sitting in a chair, slumped over, wearing a parka and mittens, a look that quickly was labeled "a mood," and "meme material."
Of course, social media did not waste any time (does it ever?), and that's when things really took off.
The memes started with users making jokes about situations that resemble the look Sanders was giving off.
It wasn't long though until full-on photoshop skills were at work, and inserting the Democrat into movies, television shows, famous works of art, and just about any other situation that a person could think of.
Of course, our 3News team couldn't let the opportunity pass to make their own meme featuring Sen. Sanders! Reporter Austin Love kicked off the trend with a picture posted to social media on Thursday morning.
"Waiting for my live shot in the cold every morning..." Love wrote.
Love also used his photoshop skills to add Sanders into a picture with his GO! co-worker and 3News reporter, Jasmine Monroe from Winterfest 2020.
The What's New family also tried their hand at the viral trend, photoshopping the hilarious picture into some familiar scenes. In the gallery featured below, you can find Sanders inserted into photos behind the WKYC newsdesk, in the studio, and with Digital Anchor Stephanie Haney, Meteorologist Matt Wintz, and What's New Anchors Betsy Kling and Jay Crawford.

The meme became so popular within 24 hours that not only did one man create a website that allows you to insert Sanders into an address or location, (just in case your photoshop skills aren't up to par), it also will get the bobblehead treatment.
Looks like he may have had the final word, after all.
