A brand new festival is coming to Cleveland this week.
The BorderLight International Theatre + Fringe Festival will span from Playhouse Square to Public Square July 24 through July 27.
The festival will include 100 theatrical performances and special events at nine different indoor and outdoor venues. BorderLight boasts a lineup of 40 productions featuring more than 100 artists from nine countrie,s including Bolivia, Canada, Ireland, Israel, Mexico, South Africa, South Korea and Syria, as well as the U.S.
Despite so many diverse groups from all over the world coming together for this festival, Cleveland's vibrant theater community will shine through with several local artists and partnerships with professional theater companies.
Cleveland Play House, Cleveland Public Theater, Karamu House Theater, and Dobama Theater have all joined forces to participate in the festival.
Given the variety of events, tickets will range in price from free to $40. Tickets will be available for purchase beginning May 19 at Borderlightcle.org. You can also visit their website for a look at the complete lineup.
The BorderLight Festival was founded as a non-profit in 2016 by Cleveland-area theatre artists Dale Heinen and Jeffrey Pence.
