CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, Ohio — Halloween is almost here, and it's the time of year for tricks and treats. You'll get a bit of both at The Haunted House Restaurant in Cleveland Heights.
"It's really Halloween 365," owner Andre Scott said.
Located at the former Melt, t's a concept restaurant that opened earlier this year and has seen a steady stream of customers ever since.
"Every day, we have people come in as Michael Myers, Pennywise Ghostbusters," Scott told us. "I mean, kids come in with the Ghostbuster pack."
The restaurant was born out of friendship and family — and a concept that none of them had ever seen before, combining cool décor and delicious dishes with fun for the whole family.
"Our slogan is, 'The only thing scary? How good our food is," Scott said.
Despite the seemingly scary theme of the restaurant, it's a very family-friendly environment, and kids love it.
"We call ourselves 'the Cedar Point of restaurants,'" Scott explained. "We are the amusement park restaurant, because outside of just dinner and the bar and things of that nature, it's a family restaurant, so we do have a lot of kids that come in. Kids come in dressed up, so that's why I think [of it] as fun, for adults, certain kids. It's fun."
The menu is an eclectic mix, something for everyone with even vegan options. What's more? They're preparing to expand.
"We are adding our breakfast side of the menu starting Nov. 2, which is going to be amazing," Scott said. "It's all breakfast food. I mean, we have the omelets to the French toast, eggs Benedict, avocado toast, so it's going to be pretty good."
So whether you're looking for a scary good meal right before Halloween or want to celebrate any other time of the year, this is the place to be.
"People love scary movies, so everybody just comes together as one," Scott remarked. "It's just amazing."
