Chef Rocco Whalen set for grand opening of Fahrenheit in downtown Cleveland's Public Square

Fahrenheit will officially open their doors to the public on Friday, July 14.

CLEVELAND — "This is new Cleveland, meets Hollywood, meets Las Vegas, meets a new direction," said Chef Rocco Whalen while standing in the middle of his brand new swanky downtown location.

Whalen has definitely turned up the heat on Fahrenheit. He moved the beloved restaurant from its 21-year-old home in the Tremont neighborhood to the heart of downtown Cleveland.

With a blank canvas, Chef Whalen left no stone unturned and no detail went unnoticed. With three times more space than the original, there was a lot of room to work with. It includes a swanky downstairs bar, dining room, event space, a private chef's table, as well as an upstairs bar and a rooftop patio with a stellar downtown view.

"Cleveland we are here today to tell you, I am sorry for the last 10 years of giving some of my rooftop attention to Charlotte. You've got my rooftop attention for the foreseeable future," said Whalen.

As far as the menu goes, the classics will remain like the legendary 'beef short rib'.

"There are 7 to 10 menu items that are Heit classics, the Fahrenheit all-stars," said Whalen. "The short ribs will never leave the menu. We take death threats when people don't see the short ribs."

Old favorites will remain plus new creations will be added.

"The rest is new because I think. We are in the new, the now, the Charlotte years and what I've been working on," said Whalen.

Whalen says that the new space will allow him to maximize his talents and bring a new flair to the downtown area.

"We have these elements and installs to have a great time. Every occasion should be a special occasion. The entirety of Cleveland is a VIP. Come and get VIP with me."
