OHIO CITY, Ohio — Sometimes in life, you simply need a reboot. That’s what the owners of the former Bar Cento and Bier Market found. After a decade in business, they ripped apart their original design and returned to the drawing board to create Bright Side.
It’s a new, trendy concept that, of course, features a bright design.
“It’s a complete re-envisioning of that space,” said co-founder Sam McNulty, who also owns Market Garden and Nano Brew on West 25th. “It’s this happy, joyful, optimistic and bright interior.”
“We really wanted to make something special and exciting coming out of a few years of boredom,” said partner Ciara Ahern. “That was really front and center when we created this.”
The remodel also included rebranding Speakeasy to Bird of Paradise, a lively tropical-themed late-night bar that features craft cocktails and different DJs.
While the vibes will bring you to the new spot, the food will keep you coming back.
A few menu highlights are their sharable tuna tartar and pommes frites, along with their signature entrees like their dry-aged duck breast and orecchiette. Their various pizzas are a can’t miss either.
“It’s a modern American menu with healthy ingredients,” said McNulty.
Bright Side flipped the script from its original design and is different than any other restaurant on the bustling West 25th Street and Ohio City neighborhood.
“When you walk in the door, you should feel joy. It’s almost like you’re on vacation.”
