Staffing issues caused the restaurant to unexpectedly close early on Friday, Nov. 4, however Parallax did reopen on Monday, Nov. 7  to honor reservations that had been made for the restaurant’s half-price sushi night. Other reservations were shifted to Bruell’s L’Albatros in University Circle.

Bruell and his management team are viewing this pause as an opportunity to regroup. They say that they have a great relationship with the landlord and will look at restaffing, as well as a potential makeover.

Bruell opened Parallax in 2004. The Cleveland native has been in the the restaurant industry for going on 50 years. It's a career that’s taken him from training in Philadelphia, to working in California, to a triumphant return to Northeast Ohio

“I will only operate a restaurant at the very highest standards that my restaurants have come to be known for. I would rather close my doors than offer substandard service," Bruell told 3News.
