CLEVELAND — Sauce the City Cleveland doesn’t just lay claim to having Cleveland’s #1 Chicken Sandwich. In fact, Executive Chef Vic Searcy, Jr. says he created the original Cleveland hot chicken sandwich.
They took spices from all the different cultures that were in Cleveland when it first started. This includes Hungarian, Italian, African American, some Asian, and some Latin flavors. Combine them together and it created a spicy, smokey and flavorful chicken sandwich that will have you hooked at the first name.
“if you see someone selling Cleveland hot chicken, tell them to give Sauce the City a shout-out, because we really made that up,” said Searcy.
Sauce the City Cleveland’s Hot Chicken Sandwich is served with ‘Kooling’ sauce, tossed in 'Cleveland Hot Sauce,' topped with house Kale Slaw, and sprinkled with a hint of 'Cleveland Hot Seasoning.'
