Dakota Johnson Poses With Mom Melanie Griffith and Grandma Tippi Hedren for Stunning Family Portrait

Three generations of Hollywood has never looked so good.

Three generations of Hollywood has never looked so good.

Legendary actress Tippi Hedren recently sat down with both her daughter, Melanie Griffith, and her granddaughter, Dakota Johnson, for an incredible family portrait for Vanity Fair. Hedren, 86, looks regal as ever in an embroidered nude gown, as 27-year-old Johnson embraces her in a demure, blush pink dress. Meanwhile, 59-year-old Griffith holds her mother's hand in a one-shoulder red gown.

The ladies clearly had fun on the photo shoot, sharing some laughs while posing together. The pics mark the first time the three ladies have ever been photographed together for publication.

"The three generations just made me think about Mom, born in 1930, and me, in the '50s, and Dakota, in the '80s," Griffith tells the magazine about coming together to celebrate Hedren's new memoir, Tippi, in which Hedren gets candid about the dark side of stardom she's experienced. "The progression of life is really beautiful."

Hedren, who's starred in such Alfred Hitchcock classics as 1964's Marnie and 1963's The Birds, says the family actually never gives one another acting advice.

"No, we never even talk about it," Hedren says. "Isn't that interesting?"

Johnson has talked about her famous grandmother before, gushing about her to Vogue last January.

"[She's] the most glamorous woman I've ever seen," the Fifty Shades of Grey actress said. "She's so beautiful and smart and a real, true class act. She's just extraordinary."

In January, Johnson talked to Vogue U.K. about ageism in Hollywood, and specifically referenced her mom and grandma.

"Why isn't my mother in movies? She's an extraordinary actress!" Johnson said. "Why isn't my grandmother in movies? This industry is f**king brutal. No matter how tough you are, sometimes there's the feeling of not being wanted. It's absurd and cut-throat."
