Kim Goldman took to Facebook on Sunday to honor her older brother, Ronald "Ron" Goldman, the friend of Nicole Brown Simpson who was murdered 22 years ago today.
The anniversary comes on the same day 50 were found dead, including the gunman, and 53 injured following a shooting at Pulse, a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida.
"In the wake of what is happening in Orlando, I feel selfish having feelings about my own grief on what marks 22 years since my brother was brutally stabbed to death in Brentwood," she wrote. "I want to say something profound, comforting and enlightening to those that have been struck by violence at the hands of another, but there are no words to ease the pain; decades later I am still filled with a longing to hear my brother's voice, his laugh, to feel his hug, to have him know my son. It is with me every day."
"So on this day, when 50+ families whose course in life has just changed forever, I offer kindness, patience, empathy and a deep understanding," she concluded. "As I mourn the loss of my big brother today and always, I will hold a special place in my heart to those who have suffered before and after me -- we are not alone."

Twenty-two years ago today, Ron and Nicole were found dead at Nicole's home in Brentwood, California, which led to the investigation and arrest of her ex-husband, O.J. Simpson. The famous case -- which found O.J. not guilty -- was recently brought to light by FX's The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story.
Kim was a guest on The Steve Harvey Show in March, where she expressed her opinions on the network's decision to create a show on the case. "A part of me's thinking, 'You know, why do we need this show? We had it on television, gavel-to-gavel, for 10 months. Why do we need this?'" she said at the time. "I don't want to have to watch it week after week and I feel like I do."
"People are [like], 'Oh, the acting's riveting and this is such a great plot line.' And I'm thinking, 'These are murders!'" Kim continued. "It's very confusing to us, because this is not entertainment."
While Kim mourns the loss of her beloved brother, the world weeps and continues to "#PrayForOrlando." As previously reported, the shooting in Florida occurred around 2:20 a.m. local time at Pulse nightclub, described as "Orlando's hottest gay bar."
The gunman was identified as 29-year-old Omar Mateen of Port St. Lucie, Florida. Orlando Police Chief John Mina said the suspect was found with a handgun and an assault rifle. According to CBS News, Mateen called 911 at the time of his attack in order to pledge his allegiance to ISIS, and he also mentioned the Boston bombers. The investigation is on-going.
