Grab your bibs and get ready for ribs!
Organizers for the annual Berea National Rib Cook-Off & Beer Fest have announced that the iconic Northeast Ohio event will return this Memorial Day weekend, after a year away due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The event will take place at the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds beginning Friday, May 28, and admission will be free for those who arrive before 5 p.m. After 5 p.m. on Friday, and throughout the weekend, tickets will cost $5 per person.
The 22nd Annual Berea National Rib Cook-Off and Beer Fest will offer guests the chance to try 10 different styles of the classic dish, and place their vote on which teams should win the coveted Best Ribs, Best Sauce and People’s Choice Awards.
Organizers are also trying out a new system that they believe will allow eventgoers to taste ribs from as many different teams as they can. Guests will be able to choose from several different portion size options, ranging from full slab dinner to bone sampler meals.
Prices for the various rib options can be found below:
- Full Slab Dinner – $25
- Full Slab – $23
- Half Slab Dinner – $18
- Half Slab – $16
- 1/3 Slab – $12
- 2 Bone Sampler – $6
- 4 Bone Sampler – $11
- Pork Sandwich – $8
- Chicken Sandwich – $8
- Brisket Sandwich – $10
There will also be a dedicated kids zone at the event, and children 12 and under are free all weekend. Military personnel with valid identification will also receive free access. Parking for all is free.
