Cleveland — You may remember Paula McLain from her best seller, "The Paris Wife." The author and Clevelander has a new book on shelves.
In "Love and Ruin," McLain returns to Ernest Hemingway's history. This novel focuses on his third wife, Martha Gellhorn, a fiercely independent woman who became one of the greatest war correspondents of the 20th century.
"I'm always looking for that story, that thing that's going to draw me," said McLain. "That one woman from history who's going to sweep me away, and make me forget myself, make me feel like I can follow her to 1920s Paris, or 1920s Kenya, or Cuba in 1939."
Friday, McLain introduced her new book at the Cuyahoga County Library Parma-Snow branch.
She continues her local talks on the new book Saturday, May 5. You can find her at the Geauga County Public Library in Chardon at 4 p.m., or at Loganberry Books in Shaker Heights at 7:30 p.m.
