Memorial Day weekend has arrived, and many communities throughout Northeast Ohio are celebrating by hosting a parade. Below is a list of some Memorial Day parades happening this weekend (be sure to check back as we may add more).
AVON LAKE
Parade set for May 31 at 10 a.m. with a ceremony following at Veterans Memorial Park around 10:45 a.m. CLICK HERE to see a map of the parade route.
BEDFORD
Parade set for May 31 at 10:15 a.m. The parade begins at Bedford City Hall. Ceremonies will be held at Bedford Public Square on Broadway and conclude at the Bedford Cemetery on Broadway. We streamed the entire Bedford Memorial Day parade, which you can watch in the player below:
BRECKSVILLE
Parade set for 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. See the parade route HERE.
CANTON
Parade set for May 31 at 10 a.m. The parade will begin at the McKinley Downtown Campus (formerly known as Timken High School), traveling west on Tuscarawas Street, north on Elgin and concluding with a Memorial Day Observance Ceremony at the McKinley monument.
ELYRIA
Parade set for May 31 at 10:30 a.m. CLICK HERE to see the parade route.
GREEN
Parade set for May 31 at 10 a.m. Steps off from Green High School with the following route: Boettler Road to Massillon Road to Steese Road and ending at Green Middle School. A Memorial Day Ceremony will take place at noon at Green Veterans Memorial park on Steese Road. City officials are asking family groups to remain at least six feet apart from other groups along the parade route.
LAKEMORE
The Village of Lakemore has their parade set for May 31 at 1 p.m. The parade will begin at Springfield High School and down Sanitarium Road.
MENTOR
Parade set for May 31 at 10 a.m. The one-mile parade makes its way along Mentor Avenue before traveling northbound on Hopkins Road.
NEW FRANKLIN
Parade set for May 31 at 10 a.m. The route follows Manchester Road from Grace Bible Church to Manchester Cemetery.
NORTH RIDGEVILLE
Parade set for May 31 at 9:45 a.m. The parade begins at the Senior Center and travel down Bainbridge Road before concluding at Ranger Stadium.
SEVEN HILLS
Parade set for May 31 at 10:30 a.m. It will step off from St. Columbkille and follow the route down Broadview Road, up Hillside and end at City Hall.
WESTLAKE
Parade set for May 31 at 10 a.m. Starting point will be at Saint Peter and George Orthodox Church on Hilliard Boulevard. The parade will continue down Hilliard before concluding at Clague Park for a small ceremony.
