MENTOR, Ohio — Imagine viewing the best art Rome has to offer without having to travel. That's what you get at Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel: The Exhibition.
It's a globally-successful exhibit that has traveled from China to across the United States. It opened in Mentor Friday at the Great Lakes Mall.
Guests can take their time viewing the more than 30 fresco-style pieces, that are life-sized and spectacular. The ceiling paintings from the Sistine Chapel have been reproduced using high-definition photos and emulate the look and feel of the original, according to the exhibition's website.
Each piece is accompanied with an informative read-along, and audio-guides are available for rent. The exhibit at the Great Lakes Mall runs Wednesday-Sunday, from 10am-6pm, through February 20th.
