LOS ANGELES — Lights! Camera! Fashion!
Hollywood was looking glamorous as the stars walked the red carpet for the 2020 Academy Awards on Sunday night.
But what were the hottest fashion trends from the night and who captured our attention?
Megan Moran of the Style Foundry in Cleveland dropped by wkyc studios to share her expertise, and offered some tips on how you can incorporate some of these looks into your own wardrobe.
THE COLOR PINK
“I was really excited to see that because it is a fashion trend that I think we’re going to see spill over from winter into spring," Moran said. "So to see it on the red carpet is even more exciting to show that it’s going to be a big thing.”
Here are Moran's thoughts on the best looks of the night...
Regina King: “I loved this look. This was actually my favorite look from the whole night. First off, the light pink is amazing. Also, the next big thing about getting dressed is having a great fit. That’s what makes you look put together, and this dress just shows off her figure perfectly.”

Julia Butters: “She has got it all going on. ... My other favorite thing was her adorable little clutch. Not only does it have sparkles, but it had a turkey sandwich in it, which I just love. I think that’s hysterical. She really did a good job pulling it all together.”
---
Idina Menzel: “What I loved about this is that it’s a deeper berry color. It’s something we’ve seen a lot in winter trends. … There’s a lot of ways to infuse that. That color will probably fade into a hotter pink once the spring and summer comes up.”

SEQUINS & BEADING
Brie Larson: “This was my second favorite dress. Also happens to be that pink trend as well. I love that it gave a little bit of sparkle. It’s something that you can infuse in your wardrobe, too. Often times we see sparkle really come in during the holidays. You think to put it on for Christmas and New Year’s, but you can certainly find other little accessories to add into your wardrobe. Maybe a clutch or shoes for date night that you could try.”

Geena Davis: “This is a great other way to try sequins as well. It’s that black and it’s matte. It’s not quite as shiny. It doesn’t feel as blingy, but I love how this fit on her. The deeper V, the fact that it has pockets, it’s something you can infuse into your dresses for work as well. I thought this was a stunning look.”

Renee Zellweger: “I just thought it was breathtaking. I also think the great thing that transitioned when she got on stage was how much it sparkled. On the red carpet it looked great, and the pictures do it a little bit of justice, but when you see it in the light it makes such a difference, which is the best part of this trend.”
