Savannah Banana's 'World Famous Baseball Circus' coming to Akron in July 2023

The Banana Ball World Tour will make its stop in Northeast Ohio on July 3, 2023, at Canal Park.

The Savannah Bananas will be bringing their own twist of baseball to Akron next year.

The Banana Ball World Tour will stop in Northeast Ohio on July 3, 2023, at the Akron Rubberduck's Canal Park.

The Savannah Bananas are known for putting their own spin on the classic game of baseball, bringing a fast-paced, action-packed event with a unique set of rules. The show will feature a unique lineup of characters, dancers, performers, mascots and musicians 

Akron is one of 33 cities chosen for the 2023 tour after fans nominated nearly 700 locations.  

“Taking the Bananas to Akron and Canal Park has been something we’ve heard constantly from our fans over the years,” said Bananas Owner Jesse Cole. “We are fired up to bring an unforgettable show to them this summer.”

The Bananas will compete against the Party Animals in Akron. The team's rosters will be made up of independent professional players who were scouted, tried out and eventually signed contracts for the 2023 Banana Ball World Tour.

“We are excited to welcome the Savannah Bananas and the Banana Ball World Tour to Canal Park,” said RubberDucks General Manager and COO Jim Pfander. “After seeing the unique and creative style of entertainment the Bananas bring to different ballparks, we can’t wait to give the people of Akron and Northeast Ohio a chance to enjoy Banana Ball at Canal Park.”

Fans can expect many of the shows to have surprise player guests. During the 2022 tour, former MLB stars Jake Peavy, Jonathan Papelbon, Jonny Gomes, Josh Reddick, Bill Lee and Johnny Bench joined the Bananas.
