CLEVELAND — WWE SummerSlam is set to take over Cleveland this weekend.
On Saturday, Aug. 3, SummerSlam will return to Cleveland for the first time in nearly 30 years. The city last hosted the event in 1996. The WWE notes that several of its biggest stars, including The Miz, Logan Paul and Johnny Gargano, call Cleveland home.
If you are heading to Cleveland Browns Stadium for WWE SummerSlam, 3News has everything you need to know to prepare for the busy day, including parking information, event details and road closures.
Below is what you can expect in downtown Cleveland this weekend:
PRE-SHOW ENTERTAINMENT
WWE: Friday Night SmackDown

- Saturday, Aug. 3

- This event will raise funds for Connor’s Cure and donate 100K meals to the city of Cleveland.
As part of SummerSlam week in the community, WWE is hosting a fan-led meal pack service project where fans can buy tickets to volunteer alongside WWE Superstars.

WALKING, RIDESHARE AND RTA INFO

- Walking:
- When walking from downtown, you can only access the stadium via West 3rd or East 9th streets.
- Rideshare:
- If using rideshare services, get dropped off and picked up on Lakeside Avenue between East 9th and West 3rd streets.
- RTA at Tower City:

ROAD CLOSURES
- To avoid road closures, use the I-90 exits at Ontario Street or East 9th Street to access parking downtown
- Road closures will be in effect as early as 1 p.m.
STADIUM POLICIES
- The standard Cleveland Browns Stadium Clear Bag Policy is in place for this event
- Cashless venue: Cleveland Browns stadium is a cashless venue
- There are multiple card-to-cash machines throughout the stadium
- This is a mobile ticket event only
- Guests will not be permitted to leave the stadium and return on the same ticket, expect in the case of a medical emergency
- SummerSlam will take place rain or shine
- No outside food or beverage permitted
