MASON - According to Google, Warren County's famed amusement park, Kings Island is permanently closed.

Before you cancel your summer plans — it's fake news.

The amusement park has made no announcements on its website or its Twitter or Facebook accounts. Park officials could not be reached early Wednesday morning for comment.

The Google blooper sparked discussion among Reddit users yesterday. Some users suspect that it was a disgruntled visitor trying to make trouble. Others said they've reported the issue to Google.

The 64-acre amusement park located 24 miles northeast of Cincinnati is no stranger to the rumor mill. According to Snopes.com, in 2016, there was a report that Kings Island was closing until 2020 due to "dangerous rides." Snopes disproved the rumor in May 2016.

Owned and operated by Cedar Fair, the park first opened in 1972 by the Taft Broadcasting Company.
