BARBERTON, Ohio — Have you ever wanted to bring a piece of the movies home with you? Now is your chance!

Lake 8 Movies in Barberton is selling old movie theater seats for just $5 a piece as they begin upgrading more auditoriums with new seating.

The seats will be up for sale on Thursday, Aug. 24, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the theater itself, which is located at 588 West Tuscarawas Avenue.

“These will be disassembled and require simple handtool assembly,” according to a Facebook post on the theater’s page. “Stop by the theater during sale hours to grab yours. Stay tuned for future sale dates.”

Officials say there are 90 seats up for grabs.

Originally known as the Lake Theatre when it first opened in 1938, officials say the theater was restored and modernized as the Lake Cinema 8 in 1994.
