Jason Aldean concert at Blossom Music Center postponed until September due to severe weather

The venue says all tickets will be honored for the new date.

CUYAHOGA FALLS, Ohio — Blossom Music Center confirms tonight's Jason Aldean concert has postponed due to a threat of severe weather in the area.

The venue initially delayed the event as thunderstorms began making their way through Northeast Ohio. Just before 9 p.m., the decision was made to cancel the show, which will be made up on Sept. 17.

"All tickets will be honored for the new date," Blossom wrote. "Please stay tuned to all social media channels for further details."

"We are actively monitoring the incoming weather and will provide prompt updates when we are able to safely begin entry to Blossom Music Center."

Cuyahoga Falls was on the edge of a severe thunderstorm warning around 9 o'clock, with other parts of the area being besieged by tornado threats. Blossom had previously told 3News they would attempt to have the concert go ahead regardless of bad weather, but Thursday's conditions became too much of a threat. The show was supposed to start at 7:30 p.m.

Aldean's Highway Desperado Tour comes at a time of controversy for the country star. Earlier this week, CMT pulled the music video for his song "Try That in a Small Town" following accusations of racist themes and imagery. Aldean has denied such claims.
