INDIANAPOLIS — According to Visit Indy, 200,000 people are expected in downtown Indianapolis this weekend for Taylor Swift's Eras Tour concerts.
Lucas Oil Stadium, however, isn't allowing fans to congregate nearby to listen to the concerts.
A spokesperson shared the following statement on behalf of Lucas Oil Stadium:
"For safety purposes, there will not be listening or tailgating outside the stadium for those guests without concert tickets."
The spokesperson said Lucas Oil Stadium's security contractors and partners at IMPD will be monitoring parking lots and other areas outside the stadium to enforce this.
Visit Indy says more than 60,000 people are expected in Lucas Oil Stadium each night for the concert — with an additional 40,000 people without tickets enjoying the festivities downtown.
IMPD has already confirmed there will be an expanded police presence downtown to keep everyone safe.
When asked if IMPD will be implementing Lucas Oil Stadium's policy, the department sent the following statement:
"With large crowds expected, we encourage only ticketholders to gather near Lucas Oil Stadium to help facilitate a smooth and safe experience for everyone attending.
The IMPD will have a visible presence outside Lucas Oil Stadium before, during, and after the Taylor Swift concert to assist with security and ensure the safety of concertgoers. IMPD officers will be stationed throughout the area to provide assistance, answer questions, and help maintain a safe and enjoyable environment for fans.
With large crowds expected, IMPD is working closely with stadium officials and event organizers to manage crowd flow, address any security concerns, and respond to any incidents quickly and effectively."
